About
While preparing to put a home on the market I started shopping my competition online.
I was shocked at what I found. Not only did I see photos of homes for sale with dishes in the sink, laundry in the basket and clutter galore, but I also noticed that rooms were not showing well because the color schemes or furniture layout made the rooms appear crowded and small. These homes clearly needed to be staged. Since ninety percent of the population starts their search for a new home online, good pictures are of utmost importance.
I have been informally staging my homes and the homes of friends and family for as long as I can remember: vignettes here… vases of flowers there. In the 90's I became familiar with the field of Home Staging. Television shows such as: HGTV‘s “Designed to Sell” or A&E’s “Sell This House,” peaked my interest but it wasn‘t until I researched and found Barb Schwarz that I knew I would build a career of staging homes.
Barb is the creator of Home Staging and owns the only registered trademark in the staging industry. I was personally trained and mentored by Barb and found her not only to be the expert in the field but a remarkable, spiritual woman whose strong faith I admire.
The staging industry is gaining momentum in the Buffalo and Western New York area. Many Realtors across the U.S. will not consider listing a property until it’s been ASP™ staged. When hiring a Home Staging professional be sure to work with an Accredited Staging Professional™. ASP's™ are without a doubt the secret weapon of the knowledgeable seller and the savvy Realtor.
A fulfilling career should be balanced with giving back. Over the years I have gotten immense satisfaction from volunteering. One of our local domestic violence shelters for women and children is called The Haven House. The training and time spent volunteering there was one of the most sobering and yet rewarding. I sat on the board of directors for our local Ronald McDonald House, participate in the Buffalo Urban League annual Gala, and will continue to offer my services to various projects through the United Way. I am currently a member of the International Association of Home Staging Professionals (IAHSP) Foundation. It is through our IAHSP Foundation that we will provide service, scholarships, community service, and carry out our mission of changing the lives of people around the world through Home Staging.
I encourage you to visit Stagedhomes.com and gain a better understanding of the Home Staging industry, who we are, and what we do.
How I Work
To ensure that my clients receive the best possible service, I limit my staging to the projects I feel will be most beneficial to all parties involved. Efficient use of my time allows me to provide you with personalized service without compromise. In addition, I limit my clientele to people that are 100% committed. Meaning – you must be ready to pack up a few things early, address odors, have an open mind, etc. I would encourage you to embrace the experience and expertise of an Accredited Staging Professional and realize that the goal of all parties involved is the same: to sell the house in the shortest amount of time for the most money possible.
My Best Regards,
